SPAR SHOPPERS SUPERCARD
This is our most popular card, perfectly replacing traditional stamps. This card is tailor-made to suit the day-to-day shopper.
No transactional costs involved mean that you can use the card multiple times a day, week, or month with peace of mind that your funds are secure.
Being pin-protected means that you can rest easy, knowing that if the card is lost, the funds cannot be accessed and you can recover lost funds by doing a card replacement with a security verification process.
To load the card, cash needs to be deposited at the till point in-stores. All participating Spar cashiers are trained in this process. It’s quick and easy. Balance enquires and mini statements are also available at the till on this card profile.

SPAR STOKVEL SUPERCARD
The functionality of this card ensures that the funds are secured for a fixed period of time. Ideal for saving for festive season shopping or back to school supplies for the new year.
The Stokvel Card funds can only be spent between the 15th of November and the 15th of February, making it perfect for the end of the year when most festive season celebrations occur.
The card is electronically blocked from payment transactions for 9 months and pin-protected, however deposit transactions can be made all year round, which ensures that the funds accumulated over the months will be available at the end of the year.

SPAR GIFT SUPERCARD
If you want to spoil someone special, this card is perfect and easy to use. Simply load the card with cash at any participating SPAR and give it to that special someone as a gift.
The gift card can be loaded with funds at a SPAR till point. These cards are pre-registered and not pin-protected. A gift card holder should retain their deposit slip as proof of purchase, this is very important for gift cards as there is no user data linked to the transactional activity on gift cards.
The gift card can be reloaded with funds but any deposit to card after the first deposit will incur a monthly admin fee of R2 per month being deducted from the card balance.
You can load up to R5000 as a cash deposit or R25 000 via a card transaction deposit onto a SPAR Gift SuperCard. The card is reusable.
This card profile is not pin-protected and till slips generated on deposit should be retained by the purchaser as proof of deposit to the card.
Visit your local SPAR store and enquire about the SPAR Gift SuperCard. You can load up to R5000 cash or R25 000 by card onto a gift card at the SPAR till point.
This card profile is not pin-protected and does not require registration, any till slips generated should be retained.
The SPAR Gift SuperCard does not cost the customer anything, any flexible amount can be loaded to the card as requested within the loading limits.
The SPAR Gift SuperCard will activate a R2 per month admin fee if a second deposit is made to the card. This amount will deduct from the card balance automatically each month.
Validity of funds: Funds remain active on the card for a period of three (3) years from the last time a transaction (deposit/purchase/balance enquiry) was facilitated. If gift card activity on a card is not detected for a period of three (3) years the funds on the card go into a dormant status and the card holder will need to contact SuperCard Support on 0800 333 991 to initiate recovery of dormant funds.
SPAR EMPLOYEE SUPERCARD
The employee card offers business owners the ability to reward employees with a card that encourages grocery spend within the SPAR estate. Ideal as part of a companies employee wellness program, or festive savings initiative.
SuperCard can make these cards available upon request by a business and set up the parameters of the card as required.
The SuperCard Software As A Service offering has an employee advances module available for retailers to bulk load funds, control approvals and export data for payroll functions.
SuperCard offers this card to SPAR retailers as a means to advance a portion of payroll for employees and retain spend spend within the SPAR estate.
Rebates on spend can be engaged to reward employee spend in your retail site with a percentage given back to the card holder in the new calendar month.
Ask an in-store rep or promoter to sign you up at the SuperCard kiosk.

Learn how to register a customer on the SuperCard portal for a new card.
New Card Registration
To register a new card for a customer you will need to ensure you have a few things ready. Make sure you have credentials to login to the SuperCard portal. If you are having trouble logging in, you can call our toll-free support line on 0800 333 991 to obtain or reset your login credentials. By visiting portal.supercard.co.za, you can access the SuperCard software from any internet connected device.
You will need a positive proof of identification for the customer, an active phone number, a home address, a new SuperCard for the desired profile and the customer will need to select their own unique private pin-code. Once the registration is complete the customer will need to complete the purchase of the card by depositing cash funds at the nearest available till point in store.
Once logged into the SuperCard portal, simply select the register button on the main interface or by using the menu bar on the left. You will be prompted to confirm that the customer has agreed to you processing their personal data, at this point you should ask the customer if they give consent for you to handle their personal data, once the customer agrees, you can click on the check box on the screen to continue the registration.
You will now be prompted to input the customers personal details. Select title and choose the appropriate selection based on the customers response to this query. You can now enter the first name as per the identity document, and then enter the last name as per the identity document. You can then select gender for the customer, based on their response to this query.
You can move on to enter the customers nationality as per their identity document by selecting it from the drop down menu. You will now input the customers identity number from their identification document, ensure that you capture this accurately, as this plays an important part in security verification in future account queries. Move on to capture the customers mobile phone number, ensure that this is accurate, as a one-time pin verification process may be required for future account queries. Now input the customers street address, followed by their city and province and then select their country details from the drop down menu.
You will now move on to enter the number on the front of the new SuperCard, be sure to select the correct card type before inputting this data, ensure it is either a shoppers card or stokvel card as per customer request. You will then input your independent contractor code, this will ensure you get paid relevant commissions for the sale. You will now ask the customer to select a pin-code. In order to complete the registration the customer must agree to the terms and conditions, you should be familiar with these terms and conditions to answer any questions, the customer may read through them if they desire to do so.
Once the customer agrees to the terms and conditions, you will select the check box, you will now select the green button that says “Register”. Once the registration is successful, you will see a blue box on the top right of the screen stating that the registration is complete.
Once the registration is complete the customer will need to complete the purchase of the card by depositing cash funds at the nearest available till point in store.
Card Replacement Process
Lost/Damaged Card Replacement Process (3 Minutes)
Learn how to complete a card replacement for a customer that has lost or damaged their SuperCard.
Card Replacement Process
When a customer has lost or damaged their SuperCard, you will need to contact the SuperCard toll free support number. By calling 0800 333 991. The toll-free support number can always be found on the SuperCard website. The toll-free number can also be found on the back of any SuperCard. A SuperCard support agent will assist you to start the security verification of the customer’s account. A positive form of identification will need to be presented by the customer, as well as the original phone number linked to the SuperCard account. The customer will also need to provide the correct pin-code for the lost or damaged card.
Once logged into the SuperCard portal, simply navigate and select the replacement button. This will open the replacement page. Insert the old card number into the card number selection. You will now ask the customer to enter their pin-code for the old card.
You will now click the search button, if the pin-code and card number are correct you will be presented with the screen to enter a new SuperCard card number as the replacement card, make sure to have a new card ready. You will now need to also input the customer’s account number which you would have received from the SuperCard support agent whilst on the support call in the security verification process.
You will now ask the customer to key in their old pin-code, they will also need to key in a new pin-code and they will need to confirm their new pin-code by keying it in a second time. You will now click on change card, if the card replacement is successful, you will see a blue prompt on the top right of the screen stating that the card change has been completed.
It is important to inform the customer that a card replacement fee will be deducted from their SuperCard account balance. An amount of R35 will be automatically deducted.
Payments & Deposits at the Spar POS

How To Pay In To The POS
Let’s learn how to pay into a Super Card at a Spar point of sale. Click the pay in button. A supervisor will now scan the barcode tag. Press code “21” and then select enter. A supervisor must now scan the barcode tag again. Enter the amount the customer is depositing and then select enter. The customer must now swipe their Super Card and enter their unique pin-code. Once the customers card is authorised, press total. Enter the amount being deposited and press the cash button. Place the cash into the till and remember to give the customer their receipt.
How To Process A Purchase At The POS
Let’s learn how to process a purchase with a Super Card at a Spar point of sale. Scan all of the customers good and press total on the POS screen. Click on the credit card payment option. The customer will now swipe their Super Card and enter their unique pin-code. Wait for system authorisation and once the payment is approved remember to hand the customer their receipt.
How To Do A Balance Enquiry At The POS
Let’s now learn how to do a Super Card account balance enquiry at a Spar point of sale. Click on the function button on the till screen. A supervisor will now need to scan the barcoded tag for authorization. Enter “55” and then select enter. The customer will now swipe their Super Card and enter their unique pin-code. A receipt will be printed for the customer reflecting their current Super Card balance.
Error Codes
If you encounter any of the following errors coming up on your till screen. These are the codes and this is what each code represents. Error “55” means the customers pin-code is incorrect. Error “56” means the card has already been registered. Error “51” means the card has insufficient funds to complete the purchase. Error “208181” this means there is currently a network error which may be effecting the till point from processing the payment.
How To Do A Pin-Code Change

Pin-Code Change Request Process
In order to process a pin-code change for a customer, you will potentially need the following things. The customers’ existing SuperCard. The customer will need to input the old pin-code. A new pin-code will need to be selected by the customer.
In the event of the customer being unable to recall their old pin-code, a security verification process will take place. The customer may need to present positive proof of identification. The customer may also need to access the mobile number linked to their SuperCard, in order to verify a one time pin request. You will need to contact the toll-free SuperCard support line in the event of the customer requesting a pin-code change request if they are unable to recall their old pin-code.
Once you are logged into the SuperCard portal, simply select the “change pin” button on the main screen, or select “card” and then “pin change” on the left menu bar. You will now use the card number field and enter the customers card number found on the front of their SuperCard.
You will now ask the customer to enter their old pin-code. If the pin-code is correct, you will be permitted to enter a new pin-code, the customer should enter their new pin-code, they will need to also confirm their new pi-code a second time. Once the pin-code is successfully changed, the top right part of the screen will display a blue prompt. The prompt will inform you that the pin-code change was successful. In the event of a customer requesting a pin-code change request but their old pin-code does not appear to be correct,
You can select the option in the Change Pin menu that states “Forgot Pin” after you have put in the customers card number you will be presented with the option to send a one-time pin to the customers cell phone by SMS. If the customer no longer has the phone number linked to their SuperCard, you will select the option to start a security verification process. You will need the customers name, last name and identity number, it is best that you validate this data by checking the customers ID or drivers license. In the event that the one-time pin option via SMS or security verification process is not successful, you will need to call the SuperCard toll free support line to initiate a security verification process.
Network Errors & Card Registrations
How to manage network errors when registering a SuperCard (1 Minute)
A quick overview of how to determine if a card registration was successful when you encounter internet connectivity errors.
At times the internet connection linked to your tablet, smart phone or SuperCard kiosk might temporarily lose connection for various reasons such as load shedding, poor network coverage or slow connectivity.
If you have a network error while you are in the process of registering a new card for a customer and you are not sure if the card has been registered.
The following steps can be followed to ensure you are on track for a successful registration.
Ensure your internet connectivity is restored, check the retail sites wi-fi connection or ensure your smart device has data available to continue registering cards.
If you are not sure if a card was registered when you were busy completing a registration, you should login to the SuperCard portal and do a balance enquiry on the card number of the SuperCard you were busy registering at the time you experienced a network error.
If you are prompted to insert a pin-code for the balance enquiry, this means that the registration was successful and the card did indeed register. If you do the balance enquiry but you are not prompted to enter a pin-code, this means the registration you were busy with at the time of the network error, was not successful.
You should then try to start the registration process again, using the same card.
This process of doing a balance enquiry is important to ensure you do not duplicate registrations unnecessarily. Always try to use the card you were busy with and investigate by balance enquiry to determine if the card is registered or not.
