SuperCard’s Important notice –

Shoppers Card/Savings Card:
Profile amendments –
- From 1 January 2024 current and existing cardholders holding a SuperCard will be charged a R2 monthly admin fee, up from R1,40 – This is to encourage you, as the loyal cardholder to move towards the NO admin fee model
- No admin fees for any newly created accounts, or card replacements – New feature
- No pin change fee – New feature
- R35 once off fee on first deposit – SuperCard will search your account until this fee is fully recovered
- Annual renewal fee of R20 – New feature
- Lost card replacement fee of R35

Stokvel Card:

- Please read through all our terms carefully. Choosing to use our electronic stamp system, including our website and mobile application, is subject to all current versions of our Terms and Conditions. It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with our terms across all platforms where SuperCard is available.
- You must agree to our terms before you commence using our products or services. This is to limit our liability and acts as acknowledgement of certain facts by you, the cardholder. In acknowledgement, by reading these terms you are limited in your ability to recover any losses which you may incur.
- 3. You need to be aware that SuperCard may change its terms from time to time and as such you should read the terms before applying for any of our products, services or continuing with the use thereof.
Overview of information that you need to consider –
- If you choose to not read our terms and conditions in in entirety, it will be deemed, that you have accepted all our terms of use.
- By signing on (registering) as a cardholder of SuperCard, you agree and take responsibility for all fees (subject to change without notice) associated with owning a SuperCard and/or having one in your possession.
- You further agree that you are the sole owner of any SuperCard in your possession and that you alone, as the owner of the card are the ONLY person making cash deposits into the card. You acknowledge the risk of allowing anyone else other than yourself to handle your cash. You agree that SuperCard is wholly absolved from any irregular activity that may incur while your cash is in your possession or under your control and oversight. Your cash is your responsibility, do not let anyone else handle your cash when making a deposit, other than the cashier whom you oversee when money enters the cash register.
- We do not control any third-party systems in the store and therefore distance ourselves from any associated concerns, problems, or malfunction of any kind. SuperCard will not accept responsibility for the faults of a third-party company.
- By making use of our registration software, you agree and understand that you:
5.1 Don’t do anything illegal.
5.2 Don’t publicly display or use the Service to share inappropriate content or material (involving, for example, nudity, bestiality, pornography, offensive language, graphic violence, or criminal activity) or Your Content or material that does not comply with local laws or regulations.
5.3 Don’t engage in activity that is fraudulent, false, or misleading (e.g., asking for money under false pretences, impersonating someone else, manipulating the Service, handling money that does not belong to you), or libellous, or defamatory.
5.4 Don’t circumvent any restrictions on access to or availability of the Service.
5.5 Don’t engage in activity that is harmful to you, the Service, or others (e.g., transmitting viruses, stalking, posting terrorist or violent extremist content, communicating hate speech, or advocating violence against others, including money laundering).
5.6 Don’t engage in activity that violates the privacy or data protection rights of others.
5.7 Don’t help others break these rules.
- SuperCard contains all the rights to the registration software installed in and onto the store’s android tablets and registration hardware. We own all patents and related licences in which cannot be duplicated, edited, or changed in any way without the written consent of the C.E.O of SuperCard.
- As an individual cardholder, your content, and the information in which you provide, grants us irrevocable right and royalty free license to use such content without restriction. Without the sharing of personal information, SuperCard may extract data specific to your profile for reporting purposes and for enhancing the product.
- SuperCard is committed to you, your personal information, and the protection thereof. In acknowledgement of this you consent for SuperCard to use your information to:
- a) Enhance our back-end infrastructure and improve our support services.
- b) Extract personal information regarding your account, therefore making it available to you via telephone or any other electronic means, if you verify yourself correctly.
- c) Keep you informed of product changes and enhancements.
- d) Promote, market and campaign products and services that may be of interest to you through our affiliated partnership with Spar.
- e) May make your information available should we be legally enforced to do so, including information regarding FICA compliance.
- From the date of registration, SuperCard will keep your account as active. If a period of 3 years lapses where there is no activity on the card and where no communication pertaining to the intent to use the card or recover/transfer the funds, you will not be able to lay claim to any transfer, pay-out, or redemption of the amount available on the card, whatsoever. In this event you authorise SuperCard to archive these funds into an alternate holding account for safekeeping beyond the 3-year period.
- When you access our website, Facebook page, registration App or mobile application, we will collect certain information of yours, such as your IP address. This is for product enhancements and developmental purposes.
- You have the right to cancel your card with SuperCard at any time, however, you do not have the right to demand the money loaded onto the card via EFT or via deposit at the till, unless you use the card to purchase groceries in the store. Please understand, it is your responsibility to understand the product before loading any funds onto the card.
- You consent for the South African Magistrate Court to adjudicate any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms of use, regardless of whether the amount in dispute exceeds the court’s jurisdiction.
- You agree that from time-to-time systems may fail and that SuperCard will be excused in the extent that such failure is due to circumstances beyond the company’s control.
Cardholders consent –
By registering with SuperCard, I agree to the following:
- I am a South African resident and agree that I am 18 years and older and fully understanding the agreement that I have entered with SuperCard. Or that I have produced my passport and consent I am 18 years or older.
- I have produced my Identification document (ID) during the registration process and that all the information I have provided is personally related to me alone.
- I agree and consent to the use of my personal information in line with SuperCard’s relationship with the Spar stores in South Africa. I further understand that my personal information will remain confidential and that it will not by any means be exploited or sold for financial gain.
- These terms are in affect to exercise our rights (SuperCard) and comply with our duties in respect of any products or services we may provide to you.
- That the information I provide during the registration process or thereafter, is accurate and up to date.
- SuperCard has the responsibility and has provided reasonable and sufficient information which assists me in making an informed decision when registering my card.
- I further acknowledge that SuperCard uses strict monitoring controls and therefore reserves the right to suspend, archive or block my account if any suspicious activity is detected, relating to my account. This includes being handed over for investigation.
- I acknowledge that SuperCard is obligated to inform me that, as a cardholder I cannot make any cash deposit that exceeds R5000 as a single transaction, per day. Furthermore, I confirm that this amount may not exceed R25 000 per month, and I accept.
- SuperCard is absolved from any discrepancy relating back to my oversight, where a cash deposit has been made with my oversight, including that of using the Stokvel Management System, where a store employee has assisted me and not a SuperCard staff member.
Protection of your information –
We, (SuperCard) have implemented reasonable control, monitoring, and organisational procedures to ensure that your personal information remains confidential. Furthermore, these controls prevent unauthorised or accidental access, processing, or loss.
If we may use an outside organisation to host, manage or process your information we will act in the same or similar nature to protect your credentials.
By accepting these terms, you agree that we may transfer your available information available to us (This includes beyond the borders of South Africa) for us to process the data and improve the product, marketing, and the services we provide relating to our said products.
At the request of the South African government, we will make your details available to the government, judicial regulatory and law enforcement bodies, and agencies. Including if this information is at the request of the South African Revenue Services and the National Credit Regulator.
In the event of your death and in line with company policy, your details will be made available to the executor, legal guardian or curator who may participate in a similar capacity.
If you have lost your SuperCard, it is your responsibility to replace the card in the store where you signed up. Alternatively, you can contact reports@supercard.co.za or support@supercard.co.za to request the blocking of your card.
Issue and rules of our electronic stamp solution –
1) SuperCard will make our electronic stamp solution available in all participating South African SPAR stores.
2) The electronic stamp card is made subject to these terms, as well as the terms laid out on the South African website. Make sure you are familiar with both as we will from time-to-time change, alter or delete any of the terms, at any stage and without prior notice, including those related to the pricing structure of each product available.
3) South African residents will be required to provide proof of Identity when registering for a SuperCard. As a security measure, at any stage SuperCard may be asked to provide this proof and any other personal details shared on completion of the registration. This includes the validation of your ID number. Equally, we may ask you to provide a photograph of yourself to further prove your identity.
4) It is your responsibility to familiarise yourself with the terms relating specifically to the card in which you have signed on for. These terms are easily accessible on the South African SuperCard website, and regularly updated.
5) You may not use your SuperCard for any other purposes other than for the redemption of groceries in participating South African SPARS only.
6) SuperCard will not be held liable for damaged cards which are unable to be used for the purchasing of goods within SPAR stores. We will further not accept responsibility if the mag strip or QR code is defective and unable to be utilised for its intended purpose.
7) You agree to comply with the requests made by SuperCard, of which includes the requests of supporting documents which may include verification of source of funds and documentation that supports the compliance agreement between SuperCard and yourself.
8) In line with compliance and FICA regulations, I accept that should I not respond by correcting my transactional behaviour with the product, that I will be handed over to outside authorities that may contact me and investigate my financial transactions, of which may include SuperCard transactions.
